Into the Light is an experimental, evocative illustration of the experience of a woman going through what is now called “perimenopause.” It explores the interior state often experienced by women in the middle of the night when recurrent insomnia is the order of the day. Bleakness, circular thinking and high anxiety are common experiences. The transition is manifested not only by physiological change, but by tremendous psychological relief. An emergence of a new sense of our own mortality and spirituality occurs with a consequent “lightness” of experience and expression. Produced during MediaNet’s Dance for the Camera program in 2005. Directed by Christin Keeler.

This is Box/This is Machine (TIBTIM) is an exploration in the tradition of pop physics, comparing virtual machines with their material counterparts as each circumnavigates the globe. This dialogue is situated within a large expanse of whitespace, comfortable and yet unnerving to the viewer who struggles to find a frame of reference.
